Suspense did this twice!
I thought I already had this, but it turns out I was wrong! Thanks for this. There's another version of "August Heat" on Suspense. It's the second half of a one-hour special from 1948, starring Suspense regular Barry Kroeger. (It's the same script as near as I can remember, but the audio quality is a bit better. Still, Barry Kroeger is no Ronald Coleman.) The first half is John Collier's "Wet Saturday." (Detect a theme?) There's a 16kpbs download at the Internet Archive. I've got a 64kbps sample I could share with you if you're interested. Here's the link to the Archive's version: http://www.archive.org/download/suspenseOTRKIBM002/Suspense-480320WETSAT...
Great Episode
Thanks for playing this episode, Jim. I didn't know there was a radio version of it. It's a very short story so they went into more detail in some of the conversations in order to make the shows length. Is there a radio version of "The Beast With Five Fingers"? That would also be a cool one to hear if it's out there.
